The Scholfield Historical Event Database™  

Since my mid-teens I've put my 8th-House Urania-Mars-Mercury-Jupiter conjunction to good use by researching and collecting "astro-data," i.e., the sort of information (like names, places, dates, years & times of birth) required to cast accurate astrology charts for famous or otherwise remarkable people and events. The SHED™ contains thousands of astrological data. 

Selections of my data are published on my chart collection websites (Aussie Stars and Queer Stars), and I've contributed other selections of them to various other data collections which also provide resources for the study, research and enjoyment of astrology.

I work with a dedicated team of professional astro-data collectors. For many years now I have contributed selections of my data to the collections of these friends and colleagues, and vice versa. For example, my data is included in Lois Rodden's Astrodatabank software (600+ data); Frank C. Clifford's 2003 book British Entertainers: The Astrological Profiles (3rd edition, 30+ data) and his London School of Astrology website; Stephanie Johnson's Australian Data Collection and her Deluxe Solar Fire and 2008 Solar Fire Gold software (700+ data); and GraZia Bordoni's Italian Collection. Also, I edited the data for Frank C. Clifford's 2009 The Astrologer's Book of Charts.

Compiling my collection has cost me a lot of money, time and effort. I hold full copyright over the data in my collection, including all rights over the distribution and modification of my data in all media. My data are my intellectual property.

Please note that my data are available for 'rent' but they are not for 'sale'! I collect data as a service to the global astrological community. Nobody may claim any exclusive rights over my data. Anybody may publish my data as long as they follow three basic conditions of use: (1) requesting permission and notifying me of the date and other details of publication; (2) giving me full attribution; and (3) entering into a data trading agreement with me and/or paying me set fees for their use.

Fees for Publishing My Data

There is no charge for personal use of my data, for example, if you download them from my websites for use in the privacy of your home. If you use them in this way then they are all yours to enjoy for free! 

However, please note that I do request that you pay me a set fee if you wish to publish any of my data in any public media. That means a book, CD, magazine article, website, mailing list, etc. The flat rate is currently USD$6 per datum. Please see my fees page for more information including methods of payment.

A bit about me

Born in Australia in 1964 to British parents, I grew up in South East Queensland. I'm of English, Chinese, French and Jewish descent. I've lived in the cities of Beijing, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Sydney, and in the rural areas around Byron Bay. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Asian Studies (with Honours in Gender Studies), and I'm currently completing a Master of Philosophy degree. I'm gay and a vegan, and my interests include travel and photography.
